Hello
My name is Dr. Amanda Carmellini
Dr. Carmellini grew up in Chester county. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Vermont, majoring in Animal Science. While there, she worked as a technician for a local veterinary clinic and alongside a vet in the student-run dairy barn. During her time there, she was awarded a grant to travel to Thailand to work with local dairy farmers as part of a non-profit economic development project.
She then attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, where she continued to foster her love of working with both large and small animals. During her time there, Dr. Carmellini was a board member of the One Health Club, which focused on the integration of human, animal, and environmental health. She also had the opportunity to travel to Haiti over the course of two summers as a student volunteer caring for local animals.
After graduation, she completed a livestock medicine and surgery internship at Colorado State University, and then worked in livestock and equine ambulatory practice in northern Vermont. While she loves farm animals, she was thrilled to move back to her home state to work with cats and dogs in suburban Philadelphia, and now with Art City Vets!
Dr. Carmellini’s clinical interests include preventative medicine, internal medicine, and palliative care. She currently resides in Philadelphia with her dog Nora and cat Clyde, and in her spare time enjoys reading, biking, running, rock climbing, and cooking.
